Fall Institute in Health Policy and Management

About This Program

The Johns Hopkins Fall Institute in Health Policy and Management offers public health students and professionals the opportunity to take short-term, intensive courses and workshops led by renowned faculty from Johns ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½ and the Agència de Salut Pública de Barcelona (ASPB). Held in Barcelona, Spain, with the collaboration of Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF), the Institute provides a flexible, high-quality academic experience focused on health policy, leadership, and innovative public health practices.

Participants may enroll for academic credit or non-credit. Courses are equivalent to those offered during regular academic terms at the Bloomberg School and are taught in English unless otherwise noted.

Note: Course offerings, schedules, and delivery modes are subject to change based on global health and travel conditions.

FALL INSTITUTE SCHOLARSHIPS

A limited number of Fall Institute Scholarships will be available for 2025. The scholarship application will open July 1, 2025. The scholarship application deadline is August 1, 2025

Fall Institute courses are excellent opportunities for public health professionals to receive specialized information from experts in the field.

BEGIN THE MPH IN BARCELONA

The Fall Institute provides an opportunity for Johns Hopkins Bloomberg students to begin their MPH program in Barcelona.

JHU-UPF PUBLIC POLICY CENTER

The leads international research in major areas of impact on the social well-being, quality of life, and health of population.

Curriculum

Courses are taught by distinguished faculty whose research spans global public health, health and social policy, and health care systems. The Institute offers a compressed format of the Bloomberg School’s rigorous curriculum, with required pre-course readings to enable active, in-depth participation.

Participants can select courses that align with their academic and professional goals. One- and two-day workshops are also available, led by ASPB and affiliated international experts, addressing current public health challenges through strategy and action planning.Students choosing to take a course for Johns Hopkins academic credit must hold a bachelor’s degree.
