Student & Learner Health Insurance

The University provides a comprehensive Student Health Insurance Plan ("SHIP") designed to meet the diverse needs of our student community. SHIP complies with applicable federal and state regulations, including the Affordable Care Act ("ACA"), to ensure that students have access to high-quality, affordable health coverage for both emergency and non-emergency situations, preventive care, and routine health needs. 

All eligible JHU students & Learners have access to health insurance coverage, including:

o  Medical Insurance: Wellfleet

o  Dental Insurance: Delta Dental

o  Vision Insurance: EyeMed

East Baltimore Student Health and Well-Being Health Fee

Full-time degree seeking, on-campus Bloomberg School students are eligible to access on-site services from Student Health & Well-Being, including  and , as well as a range of other well-being resources. 

Students enrolled in part-time programs, in-person or online, are not eligible to receive SHWB on-campus services and will not be billed for the health fee.  Part-time and online students are eligible for .

All full-time on-campus students are billed a $900 health fee for access to our on-campus health services.  The health fee is not insurance, and students are billed the fee on a per-term basis ($225 per term) until the $900 is paid in full (after 4 terms).  Students who obtain insurance outside of JHU and who pay the SHWB Health Fee are eligible for SHWB services.
