Africa faces a significant burden of untreated surgical conditions. However, the lack of comprehensive training in the implementation science of surgery, rehabilitation, and humanitarian health hinders research, evidence-based policy reforms, and meaningful impact.
EMPOWER-TZ (D43), funded by the U.S. , is dedicated to strengthening research capacity in Tanzania while tackling the challenges of surgical disease, patient outcomes, and rehabilitation needs in humanitarian settings.
