The John C. Hume Doctoral Award
Admired for his humor and wisdom, the late Dr. John Hume served as Dean, faculty member, and mentor to many generations of public health professionals. This award, established by faculty, friends, and alumni, honors Dr. Hume's commitment to excellence in doctoral research in public health. This award is granted each year to a continuing doctoral student whose research will make a significant impact on the field.
Eligibility
Continuing Health Policy and Management PhD or DrPH (HPM concentration) students in good academic standing, who have passed or will have passed the school-wide preliminary oral exam by March 18, 2018 and show great potential in the field of public health. Previous Hume award recipients are not eligible.

Students should follow the new HPM Endowment process provided in the RFA distriubuted in December. Students should note previous HPM awards received and their projected funding situation for the coming year in their statement and/or C.V.
