Meet Emily Sperring, Engr ’24

Emily Sperring, Engr ’24, is on a Fulbright grant to do research in Germany. She works at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, where she uses an integrated assessment model combined with prospective life cycle assessment to quantify environmental impacts of the energy transition and opportunities to mitigate shifting burdens. After her grant ends, she will return to the US to study environmental law and policy at Stanford Law School.
How did your degree from EHE prepare you for your current career path?
EHE's wide range of course offerings and flexibility offered a unique opportunity to study sustainable development from a range of perspectives, from resource management to energy systems to climate policy. The numerous hands-on opportunities, especially those in the greater Baltimore community, were incredibly valuable.
What was your favorite thing about Johns Hopkins?
The outstanding faculty who are really supportive and truly care about the students as people, as well as academically.
