  1. On May 19, 2020, HBS recognized the graduation of 35 master’s and PhD students at the first-ever virtual Department Graduation Celebration and, later, at the .
  2. Ilana L. Newman (MHS ’20) and Diana Phan (ScM ’20) were inducted into the Alpha Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. HBS faculty member,  (PhD ’06) was recognized as an alumni inductee.
  3. Beata Debinski (PhD ’20) received second place in the 2020 Delta Omega Poster Competition’s Policy & Practice research category for her poster: "The Church is going to hear you. And we’re going to be here for you.": The Catholic Church Addressing Intimate Partner Violence.
  4. Naira Kalra (PhD ’19) was elected to membership in Phi Beta Kappa.

  6. Fitri Putjuk of the Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) was selected as the staff recipient of the  for her leadership with the MyChoice project, which works to increase modern contraceptive methods of family planning in Indonesia.
  7. , RN, MPH, an HBS faculty member, received the faculty award in Excellence in Baltimore Public Health Practice. It recognizes her work with Baltimore CONNECT, a collaborative effort across community organizations, faith groups, and health systems designed to tackle social determinants of health through connecting healthcare and social services in Baltimore.
