JHSPH Remembers Stephen Okiria :聽1967-2010

Stephen Okiria, 43, was killed in one of the bomb attacks in Kampala, Uganda on Sunday night. As a finance manager for the (CCP) AFFORD-health marketing initiative, Stephen was participating in a product promotion event with several colleagues from CCP and the Johns 乌鸦传媒 at the time of the bombing.

A Ugandan native, Stephen obtained a bachelor of commerce and master of business administration from Makerere University in Kampala. Stephen was a gracious and dedicated professional whose last act was to seek to improve the health of others. His work and life will leave a lasting impression on both the AFFORD program and public health marketing in Uganda. Stephen was also actively involved with a number of civic organizations to better his community.

In addition to his wife Sara Okiria Kooli, Stephen leaves behind six children, ages 3 to 17. A fund has been established for the family of Stephen Okiria.
