, MD, MPH, director of the Johns ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½â€™s and director of the , will receive the 2007 Distinguished Service Award from the (ACPM). The award will be presented at the organization’s Awards and New Fellows Banquet on Feb. 24 in Miami, Fla.
Alexander, an assistant professor in the Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Population, Family and Reproductive Health, focuses her research in the area of public health workforce development. Recently, she provided primary care to residents of East Baltimore as medical director of the Caroline Street Clinic for the Uninsured, which through December 2006 was an initiative of the Johns Hopkins Urban Health Institute.
Alexander is also corporate medical director at McCormick and Company, Inc., where she provides patient care and physician consultative services to occupational health programs. She is also the vice chair of public health and general preventive medicine for the .
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes an ACPM fellow or member for outstanding service to the organization.
