Hardwick Named AAAS Fellow (web article)

, PhD, the David Bodian professor in the at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, was named a Fellow of the (AAAS). The AAAS is the world’s largest general scientific society and publisher of the journal .

The 308 new members this year were elevated to the rank of Fellow because of their efforts to advance science or its applications that are deemed scientifically or socially distinguished. As part of the Section on Medical Sciences, Dr. Hardwick was elected as a Fellow for her contributions to the understanding of programmed cell death, or apoptosis, and its impact on viral infections.

Election as a Fellow of AAAS is an honor bestowed upon members by their peers. A full list of the AAAS Fellows is in the current issue of the News & Notes section of the journal Science.
